This musical written by them is called west side story. Manhattan is a borough of New York. The story is set in upper west side of Manhattan and thats why given the name west side story. Upper west side actually lies between Central Park and the Hudson River in New york city. West side story is based on the love story of "Romeo and Juliet" written by Shakespeare. The story focuses the rivalry between two teenage gangs having different cultural backgrounds. The two gangs in question were, the Jets, and Puerto Rican gang(the sharks). This is a true love story of Anton and Maria. Anton belonging to the jets gang and Maria from Puerto Rican gang. Both fell in love with each other in the first sight.
