World cricket players-By Radha Kishan
I consider Rahul Dravid, indian cricker player, as the best batsman in the indian cricket team. I like his batting because he is very patient and plays according to the merit of the ball.He always waits for the loose ball without taking any chances to hit the ball blindly. Its always good to hit the ball according to the merit of the ball because you are helpless against the quality bowling which makes it almost impossible to score runs.On such bowling its better to defend than to loose your wicket by playing a careless shot.Rahul Dravid is very mature batsman to understand the situation of the game and play according to it.I have never found him loosing patience while playing his game.He is a cool customer and do his batting in such a manner, that there is least chances of getting out.And that is the reason he is good at scoring runs as compared to other national and international cricket players. It seems to me as if he has great respect for good bowling and always try to defend such bowling. And he is very harsh to poor bowling and immediately make it reach to the boundry by giving it a good powerful hit.His quality batting have been greatly praised in the world cricket.
You can understand a person by his face.Rahul Dravid has got an innocent face. The best thing in him which really impress me is that his face reaction never changes. His face reaction is never affected by winning or losing a game.Neither he is more excited nor he feel frustration by a win or lose and anger is far away from him.He plays the game as if he is performing his duties as a player irrespective of the results of the game. This is a great quality in him.I consider Sachin Tendulkar, another Indian cricket player,as only like him in Indian team.I am a lot afraid when Sachin Tendular use to bat as he plays the ball very late.Playing the ball at last moment may get you out LBW(leg before the wicket) any time.Though Sachin Tendulkar has scored maximum number of centuries in one day internation matches as well as in Test matches, yet I am not sure he can really play a match winning innings like Rahul Dravid.I have often found Sachin Tendular getting out when indian team need him to stay at wicket to win the match. But you can trust Rahul Dravid as he pace his innings very well.Initially he used to play slow when he is new at the creaze, but once his eyes get set he starts playing his natural good looking strokes which deliever him runs in all ranges like 1's, 2's, 3's, and even 4's and 6's.Sachin Tendulkar can even get out at the score of zero, its difficult to trust him but Rahul Dravid is very consistent. You can always trust him to play a long inning both in one day and test cricket.
Morever Rahul Dravid can handle pressure unlike other batsman.Sometimes a team loses 2-3 quick early wickets and they have to chase a large score to win the match. In such a situation its difficult for a new batsman to handle the situation of the game because he cannot decide whether to play slow or fast.If he plays slow, the opposite team can get their field set more closer to save runs in the form of singles and this in turn is going to increase the pressure on the batsman. And if he plays fast, there is every chance that he may get out and loose wicket in desire to make quick runs to acieve the big target in front of them.According to me players like Rahul Dravid,Inzamam-ul-huck(from Pakistan),Rickie Ponting(from Australia),Launce Klusener(from South Africa),Sanat Jaysuria(from Srilanka) etc are good to handle such situation.Infact Australian criket team is best to handle every such situation as all of their players have great self-confidence in them.Self confidence is the key to success, which Indian team lack.
In the bowling department, I consider Anil Kumble as the best Indian spin bowler in both ODI(one day international) and test match cricket.I like him because he has that killer instinct to get a batsman out.He is also among the only bowlers who have taken all the 10 wickets in an inning in test cricket. He did that great job in Ferozshah Kotla ground in Delhi,India.According to me while bowling to a batsman,he can rotate the ball in the air with his fingers so fast that after hitting the ground, the bowl quicky moves towards the stumps with a speed more than a batsman can expect and also taking a little bit spin. And the spin is even more on fast pitches like that of Ferozshah Kotla ground in New Delhi.Thats the reason Anil Kumble is very successful.I remember even Australians loose the test match series in India due to great bowling by Anil Kumble.Another such great bowler who can turn the match results is Muthaia Muralitheran from Srilanka.I consider Glenn Mcgraw, from Australia, as the best fast bowler in the world. He can swing the ball both ways in air. This quality in him as a bowler is giving him lot of wickets in international cricket.
