First love of Radha Kishan : Brother love
Elder brothers are protective about their younger ones. They develop possessiveness and like to consider themselves as next to father in responsibility of taking care of their younger brothers and sisters with brother love. The brother love increases many fold if the age gap between them and the younger ones is more.
It is always the elder brother, who is quick to come to your rescue. Particularly, when you are bullied by others, you can count on your brother. It is the brother love that takes off your worries while you are at school. It pays to have a big brother.
Relationship between brothers is special. It is all about fights and moral support. Big brother love is like a shield for you when you are outside the house. But, then, if the age gap is less, they may fight with each other at home. However, when they are outside their house, they are one again. Elder brother love is similar to father love.
Relationship between brother and sister is very different. For a brother, sister is very special. He treats her as a delicate person and big brother love is all over her, protecting her, helping her and understanding her.
In India, brother love for sister is celebrated as a festival called Rakhee. On this special day, the sister ties a band around the brother's wrist and seeks his blessings. They feed each other sweets and the entire family rejoices. The brother confirms his commitment to his sister and affirms his protection to her. This festival was celebrated in ancient India by kings as well as common man. And the tradition continues.
Any girl, who believes a man who cares for her like a brother and can provide protection, may consider that man as a brother. During the Rakhee festival, even she ties a rakhee to the new found brother. Once the rakhee is tied, the brother is expected to provide the same brother love he is supposed to give to his own sister. Rakhee is expected to remove the limitations of blood related sister and adapted sister.
If the brother is younger to the Sister, the relationship changes a bit. The sister's love appears similar to mother love. And the brother love is similar to that he has for his mother. The brother enjoys this as long as he is a kid and once grown up and is confident to face the world, becomes a protector to the sister. He would fight with others who make fun of his sister. Rakhee is tied to younger brothers too, though the brother is not aware of his responsibilities as a brother according to the tradition.
In the selfish world, there are instances where brothers turn against brother for money, power, property etc. There were kings who killed their brothers to get to the throne. They simply forget brother love for the greed of power. There are many cases, even, in today's world, where brothers break up after the father's death and fight over money and property.
Traditionally, Indians used to have joint families, where all brothers and their families used to live under one roof, even after their marriages. This used help the families prosper as the total cost to maintain families was low and the income grows as more and more brothers start earning. The brother love was the central to these joint families. However, new generation youngsters prefer to have their own domain and visit their brothers and sisters occasionally after they are married. But, brother love is always at the center of their heart and they continue to have the beautiful relationship with their siblings.
I have often noticed that two brothers always have love for each other as they are born to the same mother. But when they both are married, 80% of brothers get seperated. This is only due to the reason that there is no love between the two wives. They are selfish as they have different mothers. Its a saying that a female is a female because she is selfish. If a female can understand true love she can be a good mother too. Reading a good love story can make them understand what a true love is. But personal experience is also necessary to clearly understand the concept of love. But once you read a love story then you can compare your love with the love in the love story and this will help to understand what is the true meaning of love. This will also
help to understand in what way your own love differ from the love in the love story.
