First Love of Radha Kishan : All you need is love
Written by John Lennon together and Paul McCartney, this massive hit is one the main reference points when talking about the swinging '60s. It was first performed live on TV by The Beatles, in mid-1967. BBC, the British Broadcast Channel, commissioned The Beatles to write a "simple song with a simple message" for an event which will be broadcasted worldwide and the result was this masterpiece, one of the best Beatles songs. McCartney and Harrison say that the song is part of Beatles and that it wasn't written especially for Our World broadcast, while Ringo Starr stated that it was. Either way, it was every bit as good as an Elvis Presley hit!
The lyrics are extensions of their musical piece "The Word", included on the 1965 album Rubber Soul. Recorded during the Magical Mystery Tour EP sessions at Abbey Road Studios, London, the song was featured on the U.S. version of the album. What did people think of it? Well, according to Brian Epstein, The Beatles' manager, it is a song of complete accuracy, in that it cannot be misinterpreted and it is inspiring at the same time.
It really succeeded in getting the message across to people, uniting them. Lennon was fascinated by this. Because of this great success, the record company and the band decided to release it as a single. In reached #1 on the charts on the first day of broadcast, the 7th of July 1967. Moreover, it stood there for three weeks! Their first live performance of this song was together with a small orchestra. Mick Jagger also appeared on stage with them, and with him lots of other important musical features. It was something like a "sing-along". Lennon is accredited for being dissatisfied with his part of playing and it is rumored that because of that, before the studio version was released, The Beatles re-recorded a few parts. The controversial black and white footage was included on The Beatles Anthology, a documentary about the great '60s band.
The event which featured this first stage appearance of The Beatles playing "All You Need Is Love" also included other musical pieces of global importance, such as "The Marseillaise", "Greensleaves", Glen Miller's "In The Mood" and snatches of other songs. "She Loves You" was also played by The Beatles in the same event, but before the performance of "All You Need Is Love". The song is complexly written with an unusual 7/4 time signature. Why unusual? Because it suddenly changes from the 7/4 to the 8/4 and then straight back to 7/4 again. It is as strange as the time signature from Pink Floyd's "Money", which also reached the Top 20 Charts in the U.S.
The lyrics have the power to move people, and it is because of their profoundness that Lennon has been referred to as a poet. "There's nothing you can do that can't be done, Nothing you can sing that can't be sung, Nothing you can say but you can learn how to play the game: It's easy!". The chorus is very simple, re-stating the song's title. Because of the emotional approach of the lyrics, the song has also been used in the movie Love Story, at the wedding scene. There have also been a large number of covers to the song. Elvis Costello, Oasis, none succeeded in making the song sound as touchy as The Beatles did. And that is because only they knew for a fact that all we need is love!
That was my favorite song but I like my love story more than anything else. My love story exactly tells and give the exact message that all you need is love and nothing else to make your life full of joy and happiness till death. A love story is actually a great way to understand what a true love is and what are the feelings of true lovers. This helps you to compare your own love story when you experience love in real life. Some people dont believe in true love as they havent yet experienced it. But once they fall in love, they can easily understand the meaning of true love and why one need love in life.
